Innovative use of robotic surgery in otorhinolaryngology in Greece
Opened the way for the treatment of head and neck tumors and obstructive sleep apnea using robotic surgery. This issue will be developed in a workshop organized by the surgeon otolaryngologist Anatoli Potaridou. The conference, organized with the support of Plus Medica, will join distinguished Greek and foreign speakers.
The event entitled "peroral Robotic Surgery in Otolaryngology: That is the most modern for your health!" Will take place in Athens, Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10:00 - 13:30, at the Hotel King George, Hall «KG Ballroom 3».
Admission is free for healthcare professionals and the public.
The main object of the meeting is to inform the public about the location of peroral robotic surgery in otorhinolaryngology and also to clarify the benefits and advantages of the Da Vinci robotic system in the ENT surgeon.
In 2004 started the research peroral application of robotic surgery system with Da Vinci, which was established as a safe alternative for the treatment of benign and malignant diseases of the oropharynx, hypopharynx and larynx. The Da Vinci robotic system allowed for the first time surgeons-otolaryngologists, much greater access to the mouth area, pharynx and larynx.
The treatment of tumors of the head and neck, as well as the management of patients with obstructive sleep apnea are important fields of application of peroral robotic surgery.
Finally, the robotic surgery brings a message of optimism in the treatment of these diseases. Great interest is the visual artist known American photographer and university Josh Garrick, who art the vehicle stood against illness.
